Loving Memories

My dogs are show dogs but that is just a part of their lives, they spend much more time with me at home than they do in shows. All my dogs have been special to me and very much loved by me but some have been extra special and my favorites. I have so many happy memories of our days together. Here are the dogs of mine that stole my heart and still hold onto it, even after they are gone.

Am&Can Ch Wincrest Remembrance, Am&Can CD, JH, CGC, TDI
"Kitty"

Kitty was my "once in a lifetime" dog, my best friend, my favorite dog. She was a homebred and was out of Ch Twin Oaks M'Lord Magnet and Am&Can Ch Wincrest Rebeca O'Sunnybrook. I had a hard time deciding which puppy to keep from this litter and I remember taking her to see my friends Karen and Marvin Stout. Marvin is a big guy and when he came home from work and the litter was there the other bitch I liked was intimidated by Marvin, but not Kitty. She proceeded to untie his shoes and chew the laces and had not a care in the world. Kitty was a dog full of fire and she was a joy to show, even when she made a fool of me in the ring (she did that often). She was a BISS winner, including the LaSalle Specialty at the age of 11, Group placer in US and Canada, National AOM winner and BOS in National Veteran Sweeps x3 and Summer Specialty x1. Kitty was my shadow and loved to be with me and loved to make me do things her way. She felt that no one else was worthy of me showing them and threw a fit in her crate at the shows, she is heard barking on multiple nationals videos. Kitty was Queen all her life and knew it. She had a way of getting anything she wanted but in return, she gave me unconditional love. I lost Kitty in Jan of 2005 at the age of 14 and a half. I miss her so much. There will never be another Kitty but her memories live on. I will never forget my "KitKat". I am just so glad I was so blessed to have her and enjoy her as long as I did.

Am Can Bah Ch Wincrest Number One Son
"Sonny"

Sonny was a homebred and he was born blue and lifeless and I was able to revive him. He was not the puppy I intended to keep but no one bought him and I kept him and ended up placing his brother and sister for they could not touch his quality and also, I was very attached to him because I worked to hard to save him. He was out of my own Ch Ffynant's M'Lord Benjamin and Ch Wendy's Sugar and Spice, CD. Sonny was a very special dog. He was my shadow also and taught me alot about showing but also alot about the love between a dog and a person. He was a BISS winner and Group Placer. He was the "King" of the household and knew it. He was my first really good show dog and my first group placing and specialty winning dog. I miss my "BunnyBuppers" to this day, 12 yrs after he was put to sleep at 14 yrs old. He truely was my "Number One Son"!

"Becky"

Becky was a home bred out of a bitch I leased from Cathy Rigoulot of Michigan. She was out of Am&Can&Bah Ch Wincrest Number One Son and Ch Russet Hill Magic Whisper. Becky was a leggy puppy with a long neck and I never dreamed she would turn out as good as she did. She finished undefeated at the age of 9 months. She was a 5 times Group Winner and 6 times BISS winner under the expert handling of Tobi Adams. She was the #1 Brittany in US in 1989. Becky had these wins at a time when bitches did not get "equal rights" in the ring. After she retired to whelp a litter, I returned to showing her myself and she won another BISS over BIS dogs and recieved an AOM at Westminster at 8 yrs old as well as AOM at nationals. Becky was a very independant dog until she was older and then she became more loving. She was the "Queen Bee" and let no one forget it. She was my "once in a lifetime" showdog and I am very glad I had her to enjoy. Her life was shorter than some of my dogs, she only lived to be 11. I miss my "BeckyBoo" and have many happy memories of our time together.

Ch Twin Oaks Herself The Elf
"Pixie"

Pixie was a puppy who picked me out. I wanted her sister but Pixie would not hear it it, she kept coming back over to me and even towed my purse away. She was a small and petite girl. She loved to play tug-of-war. Pixie's biggest success in life was that of being the very loving companion of my mother for 14 yrs. She never left my mothers side and was there the day I found my mother unresponsive and looked at me to say "where were you". Pixie never was happy after my mother went into assisted living and Pixie came to live with me and she was laid to rest at 14 yrs old. She was an absolute doll and both my mother and I enjoyed her so much. She was our little "PixieDixie" and we loved her very much.

Ch Wincrest Millette Easy Ryder
"Ryder"

Ryder stole my heart the minute he got off the plane in Chicago. He came from Millette Kennels in California. He was such a loving dog. He loved to smile and to grab ahold of your sleeves and pull on them. Ryder was also a lovely companion for my mother and spend alot of time with her when I was at shows. He was a favorite of both of us too. He loved to eat bird seed at my mothers house and loved to sneek back in the house and many a time my mother went looking in the neighboorhood for him only to fine him in her house sitting on the bed. "Uncle Rydo" also raised many of my puppies. He was my "Punkin Boy" and a true delight to own.
