Welcome to Wincrest Brittanys homepage, Barbara and Tim Dayton. Barb started
in dogs in 4-H and later entered the world of AKC dog shows. She started with
a pet quality cocker spaniel, Penny. Penny was a great 4-H dog, having recieved
a perfect score of 200 points and won us many 4-H awards. Barb took Penny
to obedience shows and later Junior Showmanship. She felt she needed a better
quality dog for Juniors and contacted Bob and Joann Reimers of California
through the puppy placement program at Dog World magazine. Barb's first Brittany
arrived on New Year Eve 1972, Wendy's Sugar and Spice CD. Wendy and Barb won
multiple Junior wins, as well as 4-H awards, and Wendy became the foundation
for Wincrest Brittanys. Barb finished her first Champion in 1977, his name
was Ch Ffynant's M'Lord Benjamin, CD. Wincrest still has some of Benji's line
in the dogs today, although way far back.
Barb has shown my own dogs as well as those of friends. Having finished Championships
on over 30 Champions, handled multiple Group winners and Top Ranked dog, and
have bred or co bred close to 30 Champions, several of which were Group Winners,
Group Placers, Top Ranked and Futurity Winners. We have bred very selective
litters and bred litters for myself, not just for others.
In 2004 my life changed. I met my husband Tim. We were married in 2007 and
Tim has been wonderful about the dogs and shows. While Tim does not show the
dogs, he loves them and cares for them at home and is great to hold dogs at
ringside and cheer me on. We own our first showdog together, Wincrest Copley
Cando One Grand Love. Ida is my last show dog and Tim's first. We are enjoying
showing when we can. We also enjoy our first dog together, the Japanese Chin
and Pug mix, our Little Ray. He is a joy to own and love.
I owe thanks to many people who have helped me succeed in dogs. Bob and Joann
Reimers, Liz and Horace Temple, Dave and Cathy Rigoulot, Nancy and Donell
Harris, Beverly and Michelle Millette, and Polly West. I owe alot to Robin
Tomasi also, Robin and I co own dogs and co breed litters. Robin made me a
breeder again, is a great friend to both Tim and I, and has helped me remain
in the show limelight. Thank you also, to Nickie Manifold Redick. Nickie has
been a wonderful friend and a big help when we traveled to shows together.
Our dogs are not just show dogs, they are our babies. We love them every day,
not just when they win. They are our four legged children and very spoiled,
but we choose to make them that way. Enjoy our webpage and the dogs of our
past, present, future and special dogs we have shown and known.
